My late wife spent some time in a skilled nursing facility. While there, I'd sing to her in her room. It kept her calm. 1 day, as I was walking toward her room, there were 2 older women in the hall. 1 was late 80s & the other late 90s. They were in wheelchairs and blocking the hall. When they saw me, the older 1 started moving out of my way to let me by. The other 1 told her, "Wait, that's the 1 who sings, don't let him pass without singing to us." I told her that if my wife heard me singing to someone else, she might get upset, so they let me pass. I told my wife about it, and she laughed and said it was okay that I sang for them. When I went to leave, the ladies were still in the hall. I told them my wife said it was ok I sang to them. They were thrilled. I sang I Can't Help Falling In Love With You by Elvis Presley to the older woman. I held her hand, held her gaze, and gave her an obvious thrill. She said, "Oooh, I remember this song!" It was one of the sweetest moments in my life.

I have no shame, so this doesn't apply to me, lol. I studied to be a clown and will do anything for a laugh. I have a very self-abasing sense of humor and don't mind if you're laughing with me or at me. If you're laughing at me, I'm probably laughing along with you. I figure, if I can't laugh at myself, I have no right laughing at anyone else.
