More About Edie Buzzard

An idot savant who grew up escaping into, using music to express and understand life; I remember the lyrics to and am passionate about many popular/rock/country songs. I've met as many celebs as a I could muster: Coolio, Gary Puckett, Justin Sane (anti-flag), Thursday (Band), Michael Franti (kissed my cheek), Raina Rose, The Sweethearts of the Rodeo (I was 8, Janis put a pick in my hand). My own learning started in community college when I was 20.

I took classical guitar for 2 semesters, and fell out with ensemble. At 32 I started taking personal, private lessons for 5 years. At 35 I started piano lesson, that will continue until I've completed all the levels and can teach. Music has been my friend and such a deep source of processing emotions for me from the sounds to the poetic lyrics. We're all lucky as it's the only art some of us have accessible in our lives as children, even through the radio, or the countless new artists some of us are lucky to be introduced to

Fun Stuff about the Artist

Life on the Street

I haven't street performed, but I've walked around town considering it! No one's doing it here, no one at all!

Embarrassing Moment

The first time I performed I chose Falling Slowly, by Glen Hansard. Finger picking the first time is a Baaaad idea. I pretty much fumbled through the whole song and wrote it off as a first time fumble but it's surprising I wasn't too mortified to try again probably to everyone else.

My Instrument

I have 2 guitars. My first was a classical that got bowed and warped when moving to Alaska from Portland Oregon. Each guitar has a name.
