Once while traveling to the Pacific Northwest with harpist Aaron Stokes. we stopped in Reno NV to play a casino gig. While there we did a little Busking on the strip. A Pimp looking character with a video camera (turns out he was a real pimp) walks up and introduces himself as THUG NASTY. He said he was a rapper and asked if he could flow over what we were playing. we said yes and started to jam as he handed his video camera to an onlooker with instructions to record. We played and he rapped for about 5 minutes, finished up and parted ways. About a year or so later a friend searching the internet happened upon this video. To our dismay the video was posted on an escort website in Reno NV and the lyrical content was as gansta rap as it could get.
My first onstage performance as a guitarist was my most embarrassing, certainly not the only one, as a working musician I have had my share. I was a young green first year guitar student who could barely play at all. My guitar teacher took me to a bar where the band was letting people jam with them. I was probably to young to be there anyway, but there we were listening and watching people get up and jam with this country band. The songs being played were easy 3 chord numbers and I was confident that I could skate my way through. I signed up and awaited nervously for my turn. When they called me up i went on stage and strapped on this beautiful Pearl White Les Paul, adjusted myself and hit an open A chord and let it ring and start to feedback. I was in Heaven for a brief moment but that moment ended when the band started to play. The entire night the band had played easy 3 chord songs for the sit-ins to play along with.
to be continued on my website toddqueguitar.com due to no spac
My favorite guitar is a Orpheus Valley Guitars Sofia Artist Model, but here I am playing a Orpheus Valley Guitars Rondo RS. Hand crafted in Bulgaria, these are the best guitars on the market in any price range.
