i started off playing air guitar in the 60s , try to sing, but in 1976, someone llet me play around with their guitar. he said , i thought you didnt know how to play? i borrowed a $24 dollar guitar and started playing in church. im self taught, and didnt follow traditional guitar playing techniques because i played by ear and didnt know i wasnt suppose to play like that. not knowing notes angered my friends and other musicians but i was born to play guitar! God blessed me with this talent and i play from my soul! I never felt the need to compare or compete with others, instead, looking inside and being a humble man. This is my blessing from God, it lifts me up and id like to share some with you!

Life on the Street

I was downtown Charleston, S C, playing on the market, in front of Henrys. I started playing Voodoo Child by Jimi Hendrix and the police came. The officer told me to turn down, i was too loud! About the same time about 40 Hell's Angels pulled up and started rocking to the sound. they said, turn it up! The officer looked at me as to say, you better not turn it up again. Then one of the Hell's Angel turned the amp up so i continued to play. he couldnt do anything about it.

Embarrassing Moment

my manager was singing and he fell of the stage in church. I couldnt stop laughing at him the rest of the night and had to turn away from him or there was no playing if i saw him again!

My Instrument

A friend borrowed it to play for the CORNELIUS BROTHERS and SISTA ROSE. We he came back and said my guitar was stolen. His mother told me 6 months later that he pawned it.
