More About skyp1e

I will be playing keyboards with automated accompaniment produced in real time by my instruments.

Mostly I will be composing before your eyes making it up as I go along within the moment.

"Performing Without a Net" so to speak.

Both you the listener and I the performer will be experiencing everything together for the first time as it happens. I hope you enjoy participating in that as much as I.

Also I use a few cameras in my shows because I think it's important that you be able to see my hands as I play.

About my influences.

My biggest inspiration would probably be Keith Emerson, but I stea..er borro....um learned a lot from Chick Corea, Rick Wakeman, Dave Brubeck, Joe Zawinul, Herbie Hancock, Frank Zappa, J.S. Bach, W.A. Mozart and well the list goes on and on really.

If you like those names above I know plenty more (and you'll probably enjoy my style too).

Fun Stuff about the Artist

Life on the Street

I never played on the street per se. I did do a lot of gigging though. If I told you half of my best stories you wouldn't believe any of them, so...

I will say that I had my share of van breakdowns (once used hair spray to fix a slipping alternator belt), fleabag motels (ugh), witnessed plenty of bar brawls and the like.

I met a lot of celebrities too. That's always fun.

My Instrument

I have owned many instruments in my life. My current collection of gear is the very essence of my favorite pieces of equipment that I have owned to date.

You will be hearing me perform on a Korg M3 which will provide some of my accompaniment using the world famous Korg Karma engine.

My Korg X50 which you will see as the keyboard on the top of my rack. Sometimes I will use the arpeggiator for accompaniment from this keyboard.

Below that you will see my Roland FA-08 keyboard workstation. I will be using this as my main controller as well as my source for "Super Natural" sounds such as pianos, guitars, woodwinds, bass instruments etc.

What you won't be able to see but still very important are my Roland Super JX MKS70 and my Alesis QSR synth modules. These rack units will often be used to provide extra color and vintage synthesizer sounds from time to time.

I hope that those that find me will enjoy what I can do with these gems. Thank you.
