I grew up listening to my mom's classic country records, and have performed country, rock, and blues professionally for nearly 20 years. I own a piano shop now, so when I'm not playing 'em, I'm building 'em.
Life can be a real drag sometimes, so I counteract that with sweet tunes. Come join me for a free concert every week! (...or so)
When I toured back in the early 2000s, I met a lot of celebrities. Mostly country and rock artists. Often, we played the same shows. We were not nationally famous, but usually the bands we headlined with were household names. Sometimes, if people saw us getting off our tour bus, we would be mistaken for our more-famous colleagues--regardless of their faces emblazoned on 50-foot billboards looking nothing like us. More often, folks would simply see us dressed in our flashy stage-garb, and assume we must be superstars. People would ask us for pictures and autographs, having no earthly idea who the heck we were. I had fun with this. I would always ask things like, "What's your favorite song of ours?" No matter what they said, I would always say, "Yeah! Mine too!" and fist bump.
One time a woman said, "Hotel California!"
...I mean, I realize it was Omaha, but...
The Eagles? Really? I was 27!
My entire career is an embarrassment. I used to perform a country song in our show that featured me RAPPING...
...IN SPANISH.
I play all the pianos. My favorite piano of all time is the Fazioli Concert Grand. Look it up.
The dang thing has four pedals.
FOUR.
