Natalie Tamar is a songwriter based in Vienna, Austria. Through her exposure to very differing musical styles, her music can be best described as borderless. Being early on captured by the emotional intensity and the blues feel of Janis Joplin as well as by the sense of freedom, connectedness and politcal message of 60ies folk songs, she learned to play guitar at beaches and campfires. In search after her roots and independance, her path led her to Israel, where she studied vocal jazz performance and got mesmerized by the inspiring NIna Simone. After many years of studying classical singing technique, she finally found her own voice with a Maroccan Israeli singing teacher, exposing her to Eastern music. Followed intense periods of listening to classical rock and blues, grunge, psychedelic music. Natalie is a passionate and engaging performer. Her unique emotionally drenched voice blends in with her dynamic guitar play to create an intriguing complexity and a thick engaging atmosphere.
