Some friends and myself had a New years Eve gig at a local dive. We took turns with sets on stage and gave each other breaks throughout the night. During one of my breaks I was at the bar buying shots of yager for some of my good friends when a man with his girlfriend were trying to get close to the packed bar and I guess I was bumping into his girlfriend.(details were a little fuzzy by this point) From what I was told he was a huge man of Si moan decent and I'm hardly ever an aggressive person, but I guess when he asked me multiple times it rubbed me wrong for some reason and I threw a shot of yager directly into his eyes. Luckily the bar was jam packed with people and by the time he regained his vision and was pretty determined to pull my arms off and beat me with them everyone had gone crazy and the place erupted into a road house like brawl!!!!! Good Times!!!
Every time I'm on stage I am embarrassed until I get the music flowing good and my emotions become involved, then the butterflies are just fuel for the fire!!! But there was a nite when I was just getting started (liquid courage once again a big player) learning to play rhythm guitar. I had convinced the band that was playing in a packed bar that I was good enough to play a few tunes while they were taking intermission. I still believe that I may have been good enough at that point, but apparently the courage that I had aquired from a few too many drinks had drastically affected my coordination. I was dragged off the stage(luckily) by my buddies and looked like a clown in front of the whole place.
I still have it!! It needs repair, but it's an Ovation that I was lucky enough to find at a pawn shop for $80. The top had been replaced by a shade tree guitar tech at best with no lacquer finish so I just went into my parents garage found an old can of wood stain slapped it on there and away I went!! The love affair began.
