I have always had a deep connection with music. My daddy was a drummer. He taught me rhythm. I started playing guitar as a kid a few years later stumbled into a banjo. My quest for new, unique sounds attracted me to many different exotic instruments but the guitar and banjo have been part of my expression for years.

After focusing on a variety of string and percussion instruments for decades, almost 10 years ago I picked up my banjo and became Jimi Five. Traveling in my camper van I busked through California and Oregon streets and farmer’s markets...magical encounters filled every day. Then I became very ill. It was scary and devastating at first, but i gradually begun to accept my fate and embrace my diagnosis as part of nature...
