I'm just having fun with guitar, vocals and some great old covers from the 60's folk revival plus a few newer tracks including one or two of my own efforts.
I grew up in the 60s and learned guitar from the age of 13 - cutting my teeth on Simon & Garfunkel, Dylan, Tom Paxton, etc. With my pal Phil, we formed a duo (Chapel) and played a few of the college folk clubs and a memorable tour of Cornwall pubs in about 1970. When family duties kicked in, music took a back seat until a few years ago when I rediscovered my old guitar and inspired by my son and a few other young folk started to re-learn it.
I haven't yet had the courage to busk or perform live on the streets. It's on the list for this year
My most embarrassing moment was when playing a song with my wife at our son's wedding and losing my way completely - forgot the words, chord changes, etc. I blamed the emotion of the moment but alcohol probably played a part. Fortunately the crowd and the band were amazing and helped out.
My favourite guitar is a Martin LX1E. The baby of the breed. I wanted a travel guitar because I was doing so much flying around and this has the sound of a much bigger instrument and is built to withstand all the knocks. It was a birthday present from my wife and I treasure it for all the right reasons.
Sometimes, I would like a deeper or richer sound than it can handle but I have found that you can get amazing results from software! Also, I recently acquired a TC-Helicon Play Acoustic which is a truly awesome musicians tool.
