Michael Alvarez (AKA Death Kitty Disco) has won Best Acoustic Guitarist in the San Antonio Guitar Wars in '95, '97 and 2013 as well as Best Electric Guitarist, as well as various awards as a chef. He has been signed with popular local artists , recording several well selling punk albums, produced 2 Cd's and has toured professionally. Michael writes and plays all genres of music, having played with bands that play Texas Country, Rock, Pop, Punk, Metal,Latin, Alternative, Funk, Flamenco Jazz, Disco, Blues, etc.

Embarrassing Moment
When I first started to try to sing and play simultaneously, I was playing at an open mike night. I was up on stage, covering some songs by Live. Then 3 REALLY hot college girls came in...each had a beer, sat down in front of me and listened for a bit, then started walking to the patio. When they reached the door, they opened it, turned around and smiled at me with really big smiles, shook their heads at me and mouthed the word "NO"....

My first instrument was a Memphis Les Paul Copy guitar that died a looooong time ago.
