More About Live @ CocoaStudios

Cocoa Studios is Russ & Raylene Coe and friends. Russ and Raylene started playing guitar together in the early '80s. Since then they have played with many other artists and venues together and separately. Sometimes you may see Russ or Raylene perform a solo, or they may appear as a duo, but they hope to have other local Cocoa Beach area musicians join them as well.

They both grew up listening to classic rock and their originals have a 'new classic-rock sound' you can hear on their self-titled album "Trailer Trash Lot 420." They cover tunes from the 60's all the way to current music and occasionally you will hear country/blues tunes with their own 'new classic-rock sound'.

They put their heart and soul into their music and they sincerely hope you like it. Have a great day and ROCK ON!!! PEACE from Cocoa Studios

Fun Stuff about the Artist

Life on the Street

"Trailer Trash Lot 420" first played in Orlando, Florida in the back of a pickup truck as it drove across town ... which ended up creating an impromptu parade with dozens of cars following them. The local rock station, WJRR (101.1 FM) covered the entire event on-the-air. Even an Orlando Police Officer was seen giving the band the devil horns as they drove by. :)

Recently, Russ Coe opened the annual Earth Day BirthDay 23 (EDBD 23) rock festival in Orlando playing the Star Spangled Banner.

While playing NYC's Street Music festival with an all-girl band, WEEP, Raylene was nearly mugged by a guy who offered to 'help' the girls load their gear into their trailer at 2:30 in the morning. He then offered to smash their car's windsheild if they didn't pay him! Fortunately, a cop was driving by and Raylene got the whole arrest on her camera-phone.

Embarrassing Moment

Russ Coe got to meet Stevie Ray Vaughan, but was literally star-struck and couldn't speak - he just stood there shaking his hand, saying 'um, um, um" Stevie Ray smiled and signed Russ's favorite old guitar.

My Instrument

Russ's favorite guitar was the one Stevie Ray Vaughan signed. A Coronet acoustic made in the 1940s or '50s. He gave it away as a spiritual experience (wanted to give away his most prized possession). Since then, his life has been awesome with the Karma bank paying dividends. :)

Raylene has a 1974 slant-fret Rickenbacker 6-string (known as "Rickie") that she purchased new from Abney's Discount Music in Orlando in the early '80s (she was dating Ronnie Abney, the store owner's son at the time). The guitar has been well-loved and well-used and suffers extensive fret-wear, but it's all from her own hand as its narrow neck deters other guitarists from playing it. She also still owns her first guitar, which was her sweet 16 gift from her father: a 1970's Epiphone acoustic with a Gibson style head stock.

Other guitars in their combined collection include a TrailerPark Troubadour, a Schecter Diamond Series Hell Raiser Special, and a beautifully colored Fender "Splatter-caster".
