BADgertRAP started a a one man band complete with guitar drums and samples in 2004. Andrew Brown joined in 2009 after I had gained some notoriety on a BBC program streamed live on the internet. On it I became Barry the Badger a giant man sized badger.
We've made 2 albums and a few EPs so far. Since I've had children we have spent more time recording and added a horn player
Once we were busking in Bath and we were next to a bus stop in the centre. Every 10 mins a bus load of elderly people would stop and stare strangely at us. We had a megaphone so they most definitely heard the lyrics. Later on we nearly got strangled by a stag party who insisted on us filming them do bird noises. It kinda of worked.
In Berlin an employee of universal studios took us into the main office where we forced our cd upon them. They told us politely to leave or they'd call security. Trojan horse effect
In Edinburgh we had a tandem bike and got members of the public to play instruments whilst on the back of the bike.
My most embarrassing moment was nearly being electrocuted because I hired some people to throw rotten tomatoes at me. It wrecked the stage with pips and well the lights went out and I got mobbed by the management when they found out it was my idea. I've grown up - a bit - since then.
Well I paint and collage some of my guitars. I don't have names for them that would be dumb! Well anything goes. I do have a Rickenbacker 1989 model- black and white of course. Helps me compete with the noise of Andy's thumping drums and Steve's horn. My favourite guitar is a spanish guitar which I've had since I was 14 and it has the picture of my brian surgeon on it.
