More About allthingsmusic

I started life in a home steeped in music. It was my parent's common heritage. They soaked me in music until my soul was pruny as 3 hours in a musical hot tub full of Bethoven, Dylan, Elvis, Hendrix, Clapton, Beck, Page, Joplin, McCartney, Rogers and Hammerstein, Gershwin, Ethel Merman, Albert King, Johnny Cash, Marty Robbins, Guy Clark, James Dewar, Steve Perry, Paul Rogers, Joe Walsh, Joe Satriani, Billy Gibbons, Amy Grant and Warren Zevon. Gonna share as much of it as I can with whomever will listen. I wax philosophical every time I watch August Rush. Just watched it again. Ian Anderson said "You're never too old to rock & roll if you're too young to die" Might not be quite accurate, but the gist of it resides here amongst the notes on the page, the songs in the hearts and minds of men and angels, and in the ears of history. Wow... Pretty deep for a guitar player... Eclectically yours, Steve Woolsey - September 2014 WWJD? Hope He would listen and be pleased.

Fun Stuff about the Artist

Life on the Street

First gig outside of school band stuff was at Pacific State Hospital in So. Cal. The audience was all the non-violent mental patients California could lock up. Kinda set the tone of everything thereafter... 45+ years later, All my gigs now are in church or related to it... What a ride!!!

Embarrassing Moment

Really? Well... Here's a couple of them... I nearly knocked Nancy Wilson on her keister trying to figure out who the 7 foot Mick Fleetwood look-alike was escorting the short blonde to the Kramer booth at the NAMM show once. Also blew a chance to audition for her and her sister while getting drunk enough on Mad Dog to crawl the length of Denny's just to hurl in the urinal. Not one of my finer moments. Opened for a PNW band called "Rail"... House lights were off. I had to start the song on bass. When they turned them on, I was bent over my bass trying to find the right fret to start the song. I was 2 frets off and we started anyway... Sucked... Packed house... They all laughed except me... Don't quote me on these... The stories kinda run together after a few decades of running into each other amongst the brain cells...

My Instrument

Pawned an original '68 Paisley Tele with a Factory Bigsby. Also the 124th G100-212 Yamaha made. Didn't' go back for them. Don't even remember why... Sad...
