More About ZiggyK

My name is Zack, I'm 22 years old and I'm from Pottsville, Pennsylvania. Ive been playing music for about 7-8 years now. I've played in a lot of metal and hardcore bands, but never been signed to a label. I took a lot of influence from the Grunge bands of the 90's, like The Melvins, Stone Temple Pilots, Nirvana, SoundGarden, etc... These bands were some of the first groups that made me want to pick up a guitar and start learning to play, but as a child, and raised by my grandparents, I was constantly around groups ranging from The Temptations, Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Jackson 5, Buddy Holly, Johnny Cash and Dick Dale up to about The Grateful Dead and reaching as far in early stages of hard rock like Black Sabbath and Deep Purple. I believe with all these influencial groups to grow up and remember the lyrics and hearing all these different kinds of play styles, It truly has helped me to be the musician that i am today.

Fun Stuff about the Artist

Life on the Street

Ok, so I used to live in a city in Pennsylvania called Reading, and the streets there are your typical city streets, you know drug circulation, prostitution, etc... so,i used to go onto Penn Street, which is the main street in the Downtown section, to play my acoustic and make a little bit of cash. So, it was getting kinda late, and there's this homeless guy just walking down the side of the street that i'm on. He glances my way, comes over, takes a seat next to me and just starts singing the words to the song i was playing at the time, which was Bad Moon Rising by CCR, i think. We ended up going to a bar close-by and he was a really cool dude. He used to be a singer back in the 80's for a local band, whose name i can't remember currently, and we just chatted about music and shows until ungodly hours in the morning. Stuff like that is why I love performing in small towns and big city parks, you meet some really interesting people from many different walks of life.

Embarrassing Moment

Me and my cousin Tommy started a band called Disposable Teens, which we had changed the name to An Endless Haze later down the road. We had gotten a call from another one of my cousins Alyy, that she wanted to know if we could play a show at her birthday. The 5 of us talked it out and we agreed. Her birthday was held at the Reading Planetarium, and once she told us that, we really jumped at the chance to do this. So it's this BIG, circular room and it has all these stars, planets and nebulas running off of a projector onto the ceiling. We set up for this show, drums are set, amps are ready to go, were all tuned up to play and then we realize that...........There are NO MICROPHONES. Absolutely ZERO mics. Once the Blame Game kicked in, we kinda didn't want to play the show, but we ended up doing all of our songs with no vocals. Although, between the 5 of us in the band, nobody thought to check to see if we had the mics, all of our friends were there and it didn't really matter.

My Instrument

The first guitar I had was given to me by my dad,it was a House Of Blues edition Washburn acoustic and i pretty much learned on that. That guitar ended up getting smashed in the back of a U-Haul truck. T_T
I have names for my guitars, but i don't give them the names. I let my best friends pick the names for my guitars because i kinda suck when it comes to naming things. I have a blue Ariana acoustic named Tessa and a Harmony Stratocaster named Bruiser.
