More About WayneGilles

I started playing guitar at the age of 17, quickly followed by the drums. Drums became my primary instrument and every band I've ever been in I have played the drums. Any solo shows I have performed have been on guitar. I still consider myself a drummer more than guitarist though.

I started the Radical Onslaught of Noise project around summer of 2000 with an acoustic guitar and a $10 computer microphone. It was solely for the purpose to teach myself how to create music. of my own. I use Cakewalk Sonar and Cool Edit Pro. I call my style of music "Scrunge" short for Shitty Crappy Grunge. It's inspired by a lot of different artists, but mostly my own terrible guitar playing and lack of creativity for writing music.

I don't charge for my music. I just put it out there. If you want to listen to it, fine. If not, I understand. It's not the greatest music in the world. But I love what I do, and I hope it's this love that people will see when they listen to my songs.
Fun Stuff about the Artist

Life on the Street

Honestly, I've never busked before. Never performed n the streets for money. I've played in various bands and performed various gigs, not all of which were paying. My first time performing live in front of an audience was for an open mic night at my college. I played Metallica "For Whom the Bell Tolls" and it was okay in that nobody could actually hear me playing because my amp was so small! Unfortunately, however, I was also the one singing. Didn't matter though because it gave me the performance bug and I've always looked forward to getting on stage since then. My first "paying" gig was at a birthday party where I was playing drums for the band. We got there late and everything that could go wrong did go wrong! One party goer who was stoned otu of his mind yelled "You guys suck!" I stood up from behind my drum set about to tell this guy where to go until he turned to me and said "Except you! You're cool!" Don't mess with the drummer!

Embarrassing Moment

I don't get embarrassed too easily, mainly because I've learned how to work it into the performance. I can laugh at myself and if I'm going to be embarrassed I want others to laugh along with me, so if I can embarrass you in return everyone has a good time!

My Instrument

My first guitar ever was a JB Player I bought from Rydell Music. It was a Fender Strat copy. I eventually traded it up for some other guitar then through a series of guitars until I ended up with my Jackson Soloist. The Soloist was made in the USA and is a solid body neck through, not bolt on. It's massive for playing heavy rhythms and has an amazingly clean tone. But it has since been replaced as my main axe once I got my actual Fender Strat. It's also made in the USA and is one of the sweetest playing guitars ever. Because of its natural wood finish, and no paint job, I call it Blonde Honey. She's my musical mistress. I wouldn't give that guitar up for the world. I also have an Ibanez Gio I bought in Tokyo Japan that is blue wood grain. It was recently dubbed Bluebie. Bluebie is my hard core metal guitar because it does Drop B really well!. The Fender is great for blues and jazz type stuff.
