More About WalkingBird

I've always loved music. Grew up on Dad's EZ "Beautiful Music", Big Band, Pete Fountain, etc. and some jazz as well. As a teenager, over a decade too late, I got into the Beach Boys, Beatles, and soon into Moody Blues and blew up into a lot of late 60's early 70's music. So there are those influences, but I really got into the Singer Songwriter stuff - I love ballads -- as well. Became a big Jimmy Buffett, Gordon Lightfoot, John Denver, and Mark Knopfler fan. Blues, Grateful Dead ... influences all over the map.
Fun Stuff about the Artist

Life on the Street

I have never performed on the street. With a "work" band at a few work events with some co-workers, but that's it.

Embarrassing Moment

Didn't start playing guitar until I was 37. I got better than I thought I could, but when music websites asked what my skill level was, I picked "Campfire Strummer". Told my brother "I'm an OK Campfire Strummer", and he said I should write a song about that. So I did. Also wrote maybe 20 songs, published a couple of singles and an album with the help of Band in a Box. But for fun, not to make money. Still scared of trying play live. Somebody suggested this site.

My Instrument

Guitar.

I have others to augment when I'm recording, but I am only proficient at all with relatively basic chords, some arpeggios and finger patterns in them. If you listen to my published music, I play some of that, but if it sounds accomplished at all, it's probably not me, but one of my virtual studio musicians.

I also dabble in Native American flute.
