More About UkeTheJuke

Novice musician. I have never played professional other than an occasional busking episode on the street if that counts. I also play blues harmonica's and conga drums. I often go to open mic or open jam sessions. I like karaoke too. I don't claim to be great. I just have fun with it. I know there are many others that are better than me... I have interest in many genres of music except a couple things I can't tolerate too much and that is bagpipes, yodeling, opera or gangsta rap. ... I attempt to play what I would categorize as "Honky Tonk " country mostly, but I like other music like reggae, blues, RnB, Rock, pop, alternative etc.. I mostly play my Banjo ukulele .I have a soprano and a concert size traditional uke too. I usually play non traditional type songs that you wouldn't normally hear played on a uke. Not always, but for the most part I stay away from traditional ukulele songs. I don't have any original songs yet and seems I can't play without the music sheet in front of me.

Fun Stuff about the Artist

Life on the Street

Not much to tell here. I have always had great interest in music. I pretty much had a transistor radio glued to my ear all through my early years and knew lyrics to many tunes . Never learned to play any instrument till way later in life. I am retired now and really just learning for the most part.

My Instrument

My first instrument was a set of used mixed matched drum kit that my Mother got me for Xmas when I was about 10 or 11. Mom played drums in her HS marching band and thought I might catch on. I had shown some interest playing on pots n pans before that. I remember taking two coffee cans and wiring them together to make a set on bongos when I was 8 or 9. They thought that was cute... Anyway my first drum set lasted about a week and Mom took them back to the store cause neighbors complained. They got me a tape recorder in place of it.
