I've been through a lot medically and emotionally throughout my life and when I was being bullied all through my childhood I created this alternate reality in my mind, this safe world that I could exist in peacefully and that's how I made it through most of school. I'm currently 16 years old and in college and doing much better, but the music I make is about that other world that I lived in through the majority of my childhood to make the hurt go away. I hope others who have been bullied and rejected can find a safe zone in my music as well.
Thanks for your support everyone.
Well, I was playing a show once with a couple of other groups and it was the last song of the show. I was getting pretty into it (It was Sabotage by the Beastie Boys, who wouldn't?) and I got so aggressive with my guitar that I broke my strap and four of my six strings. I also split open my wrist and a few of my fingers on the strings when I broke them (accidentally!) and bled all over the stage and someone's amp. Needless to say, I was unable to finish the song since I had a non-functioning guitar and a non-functioning hand. The show-organizers weren't very happy either. It was pretty embarrassing for all of us...
Well, for the most part I play my natural finish Gibson SG special. I got it on craigslist used for an unbeatable price when I was about thirteen years old and we've been inseparable ever since. I have yet to name it, but I'm still formulating ideas. I'm thinking something in Norwegian though, Norway has a very beautiful language. My guitar has taken some beatings from my aggressive on-stage performance techniques and you can see a large patch above the pick-guard where the wood has literally been stripped away by my pick. It's also been through all sorts of tuning catastrophes like tuning it down to A standard before I got my seven string... fun times. I love my guitar.
