More About Timekeeper

Hello, my name is James Button, I'm 47 and I've been playing drums for the better part of 30 years. I just bought first electric drum set about 7 months ago and so far I'm loving it. Never had any lessons but my timing is near perfect. I learned by ear and can find the pocket with anybody. I enjoy playing the music I grew up on, mainly 80's hard rock and heavy metal. Not many people want to play that type of music anymore. Kinda sad though, to me that was the greastest time for music. I started out by playing along hitting the air or the air drums. So when I got my first kit in '89 I was 16. I set it up, put in my headphones and started playing along to every song I could. And since I never had a lesson it took me awhile to learn how to play the drums. I couldn't tell you many drummers names because I enjoy the music as a whole. I know bands like Keel. Motley Crue, Tesla, Wasp, Dokken, L.A. Guns and Stryper just to name a few. I'd like to find others to jam with, maybe start a band.

Fun Stuff about the Artist

My Instrument

I call my kit Frankenstien. It's different brands pieced togeather to make a great sounding and great looking kit. It's a Yamaha rack with Yamaha pads, Simmons cymbals . Mapex Mars double pedel and a Mapex hi-hat. And the brain running it all is an Alesis Surge. I also have a Simmons module running two more pads. And an Ampeg amp to make it sing through.
