More About Sky_Daddy

Music = Life. My name is Sky Conwell. While performing I go by "Sky Daddy". I grew up on Country music of the '70's and '80's but I love discovering new genres of American music. Country, folk, rock, Americana, blues, rockabilly, jazz, surf, roots, etc. I play music for a living. I play solo and I lead several bands of different genres including a Johnny Cash tribute band (99 Years). I am an entertainer by nature. I just love to bless people with my music and I hope to bless as many people as possible. Music IS life.
Fun Stuff about the Artist

Life on the Street

A couple of years ago I was performing on the courthouse square in downtown Prescott. It was a busy summer weekend and the square was filled with people - mostly tourists. As often happens a crowd of people congregated listening to my tunes. All at once I heard a BEAUTIFUL voice singing along to a song I wrote. Perfect harmony. I don't recognize this person but she was absolutely amazing....and she knew my song!! I motioned her to join me and stand next to me. When we finished the song she told me she is from Phoenix and she bought my cd at a concert a year ago. She told me she listened to it alot and was happy to sing along! We did one more song together from the cd. I made a lot of tip money on those two songs and I tied to give it all to her... but she didn't want any money. I haven't seen her since. I hope she appears this summer! If its you.... contact me! Haha!!

Embarrassing Moment

I only get nervous performing (any more) when I'm not prepared or if I see that somebody I have deep respect for is in the audience. Well, I can make sure I'm prepared... and I do ... but what do I do when I get nervous when seeing someone I admire in the audience listening close?? I screw up!! Haha! My band was playing at a club here in downtown Prescott and I recognized none other than the one and only Roger Clyne who seemed to be paying close attention to me! I flubbed chords and lyrics and got flustered! I laughed it off... but MAN I was embarrassed. It must not have been THAT bad, though, cause as he was leaving he gave me the gentle nod of approval that musicians sometimes do with each other. Phew!!!!

My Instrument

I name all my guitars. I dont know why. My favorite acoustic is "Marty" and my favorite electric is "Bones". I hope to introduce you to ALL of my guitars. 🙂
