I started playing piano at age of 8. I hated it. My mom forced me to practice.
Since I was not allowed to listen to "secular" music as a kid, I started secretly listening to 80's pop on my clock radio when I was 11. I loved music of all types - everything from Debbie Gibson to Air Supply to Def Leppard.
As a result, I wanted to make music more than anything in the world. Music was a world that I could not see or touch but I could hear and it opened up a doorway to the outside world that I was unable to access any other way.
I was hooked.
This music fueled my desire to learn in my music lessons and helped me to excel.
And here I am today, still doing it.
