More About ParadigmShifters

Robert Cerins played cover tunes as a teenager and young adult until he was board of playing other people's music. Robert was wanting to play his own tune. So the Paradigm Shifters were born.

Robert loves to play improv music with musicians he has never met. Sometimes the Paradigm Shifters play with only four musicians and sometimes there can be way more than four.

Whether playing on stage or in the garage heartfelt beats at 432hr are what you will hear.

Allowing each musician to free his instrument and or voice is what the Paradigm Shifters aspires to do.

Life on the Street

While the Paradigm Shifters play live they invite the audience to play too. The Paradigm Shifters hold a solid groove for the guest musicians to play on. Sometimes a guest musician will get on the drum kit and play like John Bonham and other times the guest musician could be a player with Down's Syndrome that can just hold a simple beat.

Inspiring each person who joins the stage to be relaxed and in the moment is the goal of The Paradigm Shifters!

Embarrassing Moment

One embarrassing moment was when The Paradigm Shifters showed up to play in the pouring rain at the 39 Days Of Summer in Duncan BC in 2022 as the opening act. There was no sound man, a few hardcore fans in the audience, and all the Paradigm Shifters that showed up grabbed an acoustic instrument and played their hearts out to a few cheering fans.

My Instrument

My first guitar was a Fender Precision Bass that was stolen from a gig I was playing at while the band was on a smoke break. It took Robert more than 20 years to get another Fender Precision Bass that he connected with like he connected with his first bass.
