Be warned... I'm a musician who likes to play everything. ;)
When I was in high school I played the trumpet. Was first chair in my class and was second chair in Oregon states honor band symphony. I also trained with Thara Memory and Mel Brown in the Monmouth Oregon Mel Brown Jazz Festival. I took private lessons from Derrick Sims studying Jazz, and Jay Chin studying Classical music.
A few years after high school, I picked up the guitar. My apartments had paper thin walls and my apartment manager threatened to evict me if I kept playing my trumpet. Sometimes a guy just likes to Jam at 3am! haha
I read sheet music and like to play around with chords and transpose music. I change the key of nearly every song I do to suite my voice. I never worry if a song is in my range or not. Cause if it's not, I'll just transpose it so it is. : ) I'm just glad I learned to do this stuff while I was a kid. Cause I never would have learned it as an adult. lol Thanks Mom :
