I started playing the guitar around 14 years old, at first it was something fun to do with my father as he played in bands back in the 60s. I really didn't take the instrument seriously until one day I was listening to a local radio DJ interview Joe Satriani about his new album "Strange Beautiful Music". They played "Satch Boogie" after the interview and as soon as I heard the intro I was mesmerized and inspired. I said to my father, "This is a style of music I could see myself getting into!" I started to practice every night for at least 8 hours a night, It became my dream to not only play like joe but to learn to write like him.
