Fun Stuff about the Artist

Life on the Street

I performed only once on the street and was when I was living in Boston, MA.

I finally decided I was going to play a gig on a Friday night in the subway and chose the Red Line "Central" T stop, between Harvard Square and MIT. It was about 9pm when nervously got off the subway and pulled my excessive musical equipment from the subway and chose a not too crowded spot. I setup my 2 battery powered amps (stereo!), plugged my acoustic into my chorus pedal and setup my mic.

I wanted to play a new song I had written about the homeless people in Boston. I launched into the song, eyes clinched shut in abject fear/shyness but was pleased with my performance.

When I finished the song and opened my eyes there was a homeless woman standing in front of me holding a $5 dollar bill, getting ready to drop it into my guitar case. I immediately said 'Oh no, no, don't do that..." and she waved her hand, whispered "thank you", dropped the bill and walked off with a smile.

This really did occur

Embarrassing Moment

Playing once in Hollywood California at an open mic where you have to pay the coffee house to play 3 songs. I hadn't played live in years and was my typical nervous self. I made it past the first verse but completely forget the next verse and stopped mid song and said, 'Sorry folks, that one's dead." The crowd moaned and encouraged me to play more. I decided to play one more and attacked it with great furiosity and when I was done, people just stared at me and didn't know what to say. I packed up and never came back.

My Instrument

I have enough. Love all my tools.
