More About Heather_Waters

My name is Heather Waters. I write songs, play guitar, sing and love to roadtrip. I love anything old school and I guess the vehicle I drive and the songs I write reflect that. I have released EP's and Albums since 2004 and have been travelling with various musicians both here in South Africa and abroad since then.
Although I am known for my 'happy, jammy, guitar driven folk-rock'songs, I have spent the last few years also exploring song writing in other genres, and have enjoyed collaborating with bands and artists of different styles.
This is a great platform to share the music with a greater audience and invite you to join me and my muso buddies, as we jam here at my home at the coast in Victoria bay, South Africa and wherever the journey takes me in my old VW Kombi. Personal music taste: I dig music like Pink Floyd, Janis, Nick Cave, The Doors, Melanie Safka, Rodriguez, Nina Simone, Any Reggae or Old School Ska Tunes, World Music

Love. Heather Waters

Fun Stuff about the Artist

Life on the Street

Being chased by the cops up and down cobble stone alley ways in Majorca as we were unknowingly busking in a no-busking zone..

My Instrument

I worked real hard in UK and saved all my pounds to buy my first ever steel string guitar. Took me most of a week to choose it from one of the many music shops in Denmark Street in London! Being used to a nylon string up until that point, I had to practice playing the new guitar for a long time before taking it out and strummed it hard and passionately for five beautiful years at open mikes, busking and mini festivals before it eventually accidentally got dropped by my (then) boyfriend in a pub late one night in South Africa, totally destroyed it. :( Its in storage still 'waiting' to be turned into a bookshelf or something... Perhaps i'm a bit of a sentimental hoarder :)
