I grew up in a small town where country music dominates the rural area. However, it is probably my least favorite genre of music. I grew up listening to AC/DC and Van Halen thanks to my dad. I absolutely loved Angus Young. AC/DC had a pulse to their music that just made me fall in love with the sound of the guitar. I also loved Angus Young's power on stage. He could control the crowd and people worshiped him. I loved that playing a guitar could have such an amazing power over people.
My uncle had a guitar laying around the first time I ever got to see one in person. I was probably 14 or so at the time. I loved picking at it. I used to think you fretted on the bars haha.
In Highschool I got my Squire and had guitar lessons. My teacher was not very good at teaching. I quit lessons and turned to the internet to learn.
Haven't looked
I have performed in random locations on the street before, but I never really had a "wild" moment. I will say playing my guitar at college helped me make new friends, which was pretty awesome. If something in the future happens that can be deemed as "wild", then I will update this Life on the Street topic.
I have yet to have an embarrassing moment to my knowledge playing live or anything. However, I think everyone has that day where your fingers just do not feel like cooperating with you.
I still have every guitar I have ever had. My first guitar was a Fender Squire Strat that my dad got me used for 50 bucks. I was so happy to finally have a guitar. Once I taught myself to play well enough my dad bought me another used guitar. This time it was a Jackson Dinky. I was in love with the guitar as it was capable of heavier tones. It had stock pickups that were horrible. I eventually put in PAF DiMarzio's and the guitar is so much better. Next guitar is an Ibanez JS100 and it is my favorite guitar in my collection and plays so great. It has a PAF Joe and MO Joe pick ups in it. Then I received an Aria Pro Series 2 guitar from the 80's that was a family member's who had passed on. My newest guitar is my very first 7 string and my first ever new guitar! Next on the list is a low level Randy Rhoads Flying V that a buddy of mine is selling.
