More About GabriellaRothschild

I have a therapist; and her name is music! Music was part of my family, my parents were ballroom dancers, my grandparents played multiple instruments by ear, and my most life-changing experiences all happened through music. I was heartbroken in the 3rd grade and remember playing a song over and over. This activity is strange for 8-year-old, but somehow, I knew deep inside that music helped me feel, and express my emotions at this very young age. Then in the 5th grade I played the trumpet in band and learned read music. I sang 1st soprano in the choir in high school. Later a prophet said to me, " God said you are going to play the piano!” and…miraculously the next week, I began to play!! So, music is in every fiber of my being. I use it to concentrate, celebrate, deliberate, and it truly is my therapist! I'm currently working toward a master’s degree in psychology, and I desire to incorporate music with therapy to facilitate personal healing for everyone!

Fun Stuff about the Artist

Life on the Street

The only performing on the streets that I've ever experienced was in the 9th grade in the High School band. I played the trumpet in the Thanksgiving Macy's day parade in NYC after the Rockets and brought Santa Claus in for the crowd. We had to wait on the streets of New York City at 3:00 AM to get lined up for the show, and I was freezing!

Embarrassing Moment

The most embarrassing moments as a musician live on stage would have been in second life when my avatar was lagging. She was on stage in front of everyone and started doing pirouettes incessantly. Another time my avatar was blowing bubbles while singing with my hands raised the entire performance. Only in a virtual world! You can view that performance here------> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DrHlhH_oPu4.

My Instrument

My first instrument in the 3rd or 4th grade was my parents organ. I probably played heart and soul on that organ 1000 times. I played the trumpet in high school and spent one year learning the bassoon. Today I prefer playing my upright piano but it's too difficult to configure online use and include different microphones. Therefore, I must play an electric keyboard which has weighted keys at least. I don’t have a name for her yet. I am open for name suggestions!
