I used to perform on a specific corner in downtown Bend Oregon, when I first realized that I love to do hiphop, and make my own music. In that spot I would wear a masquerade mask, a ninja turtle backpack, and a fur coat. I was Fate Created.
In that spot, a man approached me and told me that everyday his daughter with cancer would get so excited to pass me performing on the corner, it definitely made me realize what small impacts consistency and good energy can effect others passing by.
In that same spot my now wife of 6 years, her grandparents saw me performing in that same spot years prior to us even meeting each other. It was definitely Fate.
While performing downtown, I would absolutely annihilate my vocal cords performing for strangers with a speaker and my voice. I would often take trips to the local tea house to engorge on honey and black tea to get back out and do it again. I had a crazy drive.
In Eugene I got 10 golden dollars, and asked to write a poem in local ne
I haven't had too many embarrassing moments on stage, I think the only thing thats a little embarrassing. Not really. its just that when I was growing hemp in eastern Oregon, there is a major weather modification program above the 200 acre property I was growing on in the mountains. Everyday they would spray chemicals in the air, every morning, and in certain times during cloud rotations through the jet streams, and on certain hot days.
I got heat stroke, hay fever, walking pneumonia, and radiation poisoning. As well as PTSD from brain injuries. My brain has not been the same, and I cant remember music like I used to which was near photographic, I could rehearse a song in 2 days tops. with minor rehearsal.
It doesn't help either that I write songs very quickly, and extremely complex. To the point now where I very much rely on seeing my lyrics in order to do what I love..
I had a mackie mixer that I bought at a pawn shop 10 years ago. I ran it into the ground, and recorded alot of music on it. Until I recently upgraded.
I got a technics MK1200MK2, and a MPC2000XL, and have been slowly working my way towards making beats and sampling records.
I recently did a work trade, to helping a neighbor move out of her house that she had since the 80's she was being charged 600$ a day to not move out, and racked up about 16,000$ because she didn't have anyone else to help her move. SO I showed up and just started moving things, taking things, thrift storing things, dumping things, and organizing stuff for her so she could move. It was hard for her to let go, of many things.
What I got out of it was a really old, shellac 78 RPM collection dating back to 1920, and some really classic record albums, that I have been slowly working towards organizing and cataloguing.
