Nils de Mol van Otterloo is a Doctoral student at the USC Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work. Prior to this he was a Fulbright Academic and Professionalism Research Scholar on Musical Reminiscence Therapy for Dementia Care at Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences in Kerala, India. Nils received a Bachelors of Music from Berklee College of Music and a Bachelor of Arts from Bates College. He has published and presented invitational papers on different aspects of sound and its healing power.
On April 4th, 2003 Nils suffered an Arterio Venous Malformation (AVM), a rare type of stroke that persons under the age of 30 can get.
After 10 years of recovery Nils began study at the USC School of Social Work in 2012. After graduating with an Master of Social Work in 2015 Nils went to Cochin, Kelala, India to do research on Musical Reminiscence Therapy for Dementia Care on a Fulbright Award.
