More About Deborah-Dawn

My name is Deborah H and I began playing guitar when I took a guitar class in Junior high...Long Black Veil was the first song I learned on a cheap folk guitar with nylon strings. Been playing since.

I picked up the mandolin somewhere in my mid 30's, and I am currently TRYING to learn the Violin, a very challenging instrument I have learned. I have always loved music and singing, any genre from old rock-n-roll to new grass. My biggest influences have been bands like the Eagles, Van Morrison, and Nitty Gritty Dirt band. Powerful singers like Patsy Cline, Pete Seger and John Fogerty have inspired me also.

I love singing and playing for others, but my on stage experience is limited...parties and backyard jams mostly. I have 2 guitars, my old trusty 12 string Yamaha, circa 1976. I like that one for ballads and christmas songs. My 6er is an amplified Greg Bennett w/cutaway. Mandolins are a 1950s' Kay w/ checkerboard edges, and a black Michael Kelly w/pearl inl
