I was playing an open mic at the Ashland Cafe, and debuting a new song that night, "Drunkard's Waltz". It's a bar so I try to keep the audience engaged. I was about a third of the way through the song, and I hit my E minor chord, and the place went nuts. Everyone was cheering and whooping and hollering. I thought it was a bit of an over-reaction, but just went with it. I found out later that one of the Orioles had hit a grand slam in extra innings to win the game. Oh, well.
I have six guitars right now, four which I play regularly. I play my Martin DRS1 pretty much the most. When it's late, and I don't want to wake anyone in the building, I play my Kramer with the metal alloy neck, unplugged. I also play that when I'm learning a new song, or working out a new song. I have a Taylor 310 from about 2001, that is a sweet sounding instrument, and I don't play as much as I ought. I have a Potomac OM body Deluxe with Indian Rosewood back and sides, a sitka top, ebony fingerboard, and lots of shell all over it. The two I don't play are an old Yamaha that looks like an E-335. I need to get new strings, and just keep it in a case for now. The last one is my sad guitar story. I have had my Ovation Matrix since I was 18. I broke the "ovation" name thing off the head one night in a drunken stupor. My wife threw an alarm system through the top. It's cracked at the binding, and held together with packing tape. I keep it because I can't bring myself to throw it out.
