For over 4 decades I've played guitar in many groups that opened for several headliners including Rare Earth, Earth Wind & Fire, Blue Oyster Cult, Arlo Guthrie, Blues Magoos, Vasser Clemons, and dozens of oldies acts from the early sixties. House band gigs enabled up to 5 night a week gigs in venues throughout the Hudson Valley of NY. Many crazy fans and living on the edge many times.
After a near fatal car accident, it took me over 2 years to regain my skills and was blessed with the ability to delight audiences in duod and as a soloist. Today I perform regularly in assisted living facilities and occasional winery performances and my Tuesday night 7p shows on Streetjelly.
I once played a gig when I was sick and had to take a form of penicillin to fight off the infection. Not aware of any allergic reaction to it, I took the medication an hour or so before a gig. Halfway through the first set, my hands began to itch.....and itch....and itch! I rubbed my hands together like a fly every chance I had. One of the longest nights I can remember.
