Playing on and off the street since 1975. The real founder of the 'Lost Wandering Blues and Jazz Band' (1979-82); founder of 'The Manics' (1984-86).

A dissolute lifestyle in the seventies and eighties contributed to a lifetime of health problems - Still finding life fabulous and fun, however, even as disaster follows disaster! Always falling victim to unrequited love but never falling out of love with falling in love.

Also play as part of a travelling street trio with my two sons, (the 'Buskers Of Wonderland') doing wild and illogical circuits of Europe in an old camper van in the summertime - some of my best times have been spent this way.

Life on the Street

While singing ' A Kiss To Build A Dream On' in St Ives in 1996, a fabulously beautiful girl came up at the end and locked lips with me for about 10 seconds, then left saying, 'Build a dream on that then!' - Nearly 20 years later sometimes I still do!

Embarrassing Moment

I was fourteen and singing 'Hear My Prayer/O For The Wings of A Dove' at a school concert when my voice suddenly broke and I lost control of it and yodelled my way through 5 minutes of hell.....really wish I could have flown away from that!

My Instrument

I love my Little Martin with a spruce top. A full size Martin remains outside of my budget but the tone of the little one is so sweet and it's so easy to play, I don't really mind.....
