Hi Everybody on StreetJelly! My name is Blueflower Skye, and I love to write my own music. I am in Austin, Texas.
Folklore and tall tales are strong influences for my writing, and the top artists whose songs ignited my songwriting flames are Lyle Lovett (If I Had a Boat), Townes Van Zandt (Pancho and Lefty), and Kenny Chesney (All I Need to Know), and of course, Johnny Cash (Folsom Prison Blues)...!!
Most of the time, you can find me performing on StreetJelly.com with Jonathan Howard as the duo "Howard & Skye," but I created my own solo profile so that I can break in my songs that are either very new, or simply live "on their own" outside our duo project.
Plus, I'd like to take this opportunity to gain more experience performing with my guitar (usually I am playing percussion). So under my own solo profile, you can find me singing my tunes and plunking the best I can on my Blueridge dreadnaught!
