More About "Blue Fox Knights"

Blue Fox Knights, who are Dave Albiston & Philip Condie, were formed from a mutual interest in songwriting. Our songs are not written to a specific formula; each song is uniquely distinctive & covers a diverse range of styles & subjects including love, mysticism & honest spirituality.
Over the years, Dave [vocal/guitar] & Philip [vocal/percussion/drums/bass guitar/keyboards] have sung & played extensively in various bands throughout Scotland, but mostly in Edinburgh, in the Ceilidh/Folk, & also in the Jazz/Swing worlds.
Our first Blue Fox Knights album consists of Scottish Indie Folk Rock with a blend of Eastern Swing & Country.
The album contains a diverse range of original songs with strong melodies. professionally mixed and mastered at Castlesound Studios.
See our website at http://www.bluefoxknights.co.uk for more details, reviews & to buy our music as a download or as a cd album.Blue Fox Knights have just recorded another 16 new songs which will be added to our live set li
Fun Stuff about the Artist

Life on the Street

I haven't played on the streets that much, as Scotland's weather doesn't really help street buskers. But I do remember on day when Dave & I were trying to busk on The Royal Mile in Edinburgh that every time we tried to sing a few songs the local Police asked us to move on, as the shopkeepers didn't want anyone busking near to their shop. You now need a council licence you have to apply for before you can busk & there is now designated busking areas but when we busked none of this applied! We moved to local folk sessions in pubs, as for us, it was a warmer environment in more ways than one.

Embarrassing Moment

We were playing at a live event with our Ceilidh Band ie Norloch Ceilidh Band at The Assembly Rooms,George Street,Edinburgh some years ago. Both Dave & myself play in this band for local function work. I was playing drums & we were half way through a set of tunes when all of a sudden my drum stool collapsed & I found myself lying flat on the floor! The band played on regardless which was just as well as there were many people on the dance floor. The event had attracted about 1,000 people, so it wasn't easy to hide! Thankfully this has never happened again, but it is something I will never forget.

My Instrument

I started playing guitar on a 3/4 length cheap Spanish guitar which I got for about £20 Great British Pounds. It wasn't very easy to play as the action on the fret board & the pressure required to play the notes on the string wasn't easy. I then upgraded to a second hand electric guitar sg Gibson copy which was a lot easier to play & my Spanish guitar was passed down to one of my brothers, but I'm not sure what happened to that guitar?
