More About Big Jeff

I'm a beginner. I have a long way to go. I still have my Gibson guitar that I got back in the 60's. It sat in the corner and I never had time. Fast forward and now I am retired and I am finally able to enjoy strumming on a guitar. I have added a few more guitars to my collection and I won't say how many but my wife says no more. I have been playing for a few years now and I've met so many wonderful people in this new adventure. My friends that get together to jam with me continue to teach me and I'm always excited to learn more. Not to elicit sympathy or put a negative spin on anything, but I have some real health issues and have been placed on hospice. Music is the thing that helps me maintain a positive attitude and gives me something positive to look forward to. When I'm playing my guitar, my thoughts are only on the music and all other problems fade away for a while.

Fun Stuff about the Artist

Life on the Street

I've never performed in the streets, only at open mic night.

Embarrassing Moment

The first night I performed, a few kind other musicians got up to play along with me, and I didn't know how to end the song. I thought I was done but they kept playing so I kept singing. Eventually someone gave me the signal.

My Instrument

Already talked about my Gibson from the 60's -- and by the way, I married a girl whose last name is Gibson, so it was meant to be. My most recent purchase was a Johnny Cash by Martin and it is black, of course, and has a beautiful sound. I love all of them.
