Josh Amoroso is a songwriter who has been playing music since he was six years old. The first instrument that he played was Cello, learning through the Suzuki classical music program. At age 16, Josh picked up the guitar and almost immediately starting writing his own songs. Having a keen interest in story-telling, his earliest songs offered great talent in painting scenes of paradise and/o
r hardship. With his heritage rooted in the Caribbean island of Trinidad and Tobago, Josh found himself immersed in the infectious rhythms of Soca, Calypso and Reggae. By the end of High School, Josh found himself identifying with the unrefined raw beauty and message of Reggae music and the enduring charisma of artists like Bob Marley. His major musical influences are also similar artists who surpass the test of time and are nearly immortal in their musical success, that is, Bob Dylan and Jimi Hendrix.
