More About Samuel J Alibrando

Too untalented to copy music on the radio as a child so I started making up songs. Played my own music various events as a youngster (Pennsylvania), experimented with hard rock in teens then Christian music from 18-26 until divorced and in a tail spin.
Played new secular songs in bars and restaurants (California) until becoming ill and turned to directing entertainment (also bars) until returning to my faith and sanity from age 31(1984) til now.
Like many on StreetJelly, I have more history than fame. That's fine. Music has been wonderful therapy for decades. It is a privilege to encourage your own self with your own music and I do not take it for granted.
My music style is diverse (schizophrenic) because I appreciate so many styles of music. I hope some of it does a little something for you, if I can ever get the StreetJelly test to work.
Thanks for listening.
Fun Stuff about the Artist

Life on the Street

While living in California, my 2nd son was living in New York City and wanted me to play there in the subway. Just a thing. It was so hot. I was wet with sweat. He had friends there all strangers to me. I brought no amp just me and a loaned guitar. the trains were so loud, you could only hear me briefly in-between. Some lady dropped some dollar coins in my guitar case and I still have them from 2008. That's about as close as I get to "wild moments in the street."

Embarrassing Moment

I guess the most embarrassing thing in general is enjoying my music when others listening don't like it. Am I rude?
In a restaurant a guy requested about 3 songs which I did not know when I finally said smiling "I can play any song I've ever written". He didn't like that answer. That was embarrassing.

My Instrument

My very first guitar was a Stella Harmony guitar my 19 year old Aunt Mary bought me for $35 when I was 9 or 8. That's about 1960?
I still have and play my acoustic Guild D25-M I call "Gilda"
I bought the Guild in 1978 with a $300 check a stranger put in my shirt pocket saying "This is toward a guitar" when I was playing in Santa Barbara, California. Someone correctly told the lady I was playing a borrowed.
Guitarless, I previously sold my Martin 00018 guitar to pay one month's rent in Santa Barbara, CA. That was given to me in New Jersey a few years earlier.
