I started playing the guitar at about 13 years of age. Decided if I wasn't going to be handsome I should at least be musical. I fell in love with the instrument, never stopped playing, and now I can't seem to stop buying them. :-)
I've taught lessons, written songs (none you've heard YET!), and enjoyed just playing with other local musicians in jam sessions and open mic events. I play regularly for church, and about anywhere folks gather.
In recent years I've been collaborating online with other musicians on home based recordings. Music has always been part of my life, and I'd love to get to know you as listener, collaborator, critic...whatever!
Wrote one of my personal favorite tunes sitting on the floor of the bedroom waiting for my sick child to throw up (which he was doing about every 1/2 hour)
I was playing in a prison, for a worship service. I did a drop D tuning on the guitar and after the song was done, I went to bring the D back up to and E, only to discover the peg stripped out and wouldn't bring the string back up. I fought with it for a bit then asked the inmates if any of them had a screw driver. (Best laugh of the night)
I purchased a 63 Jazzmaster for 100 bucks in a pawnshop. Someone had painted it auto-shop blue. I stripped it back to blonde and I played it for about 6 years with various groups. Made the huge mistake of trading it for banjo! Still have the banjo just as a lesson to not be so stupid. It'd be worth upwards to 2K today.
I'm mostly an acoustic player, but I miss that guitar.
