Having earned his undergraduate degree in 1993, and his master’s degree in 1998, A. J. has more than 20 years experience teaching in both the classroom and one-on-one. He has taught subjects as diverse as music, drama, history, social studies and some sciences (palaeontology and astronomy). He has had students as young as grade 4 and as old a some non-traditional retirees. He has also been privileged to teach in both Canada and the Unites States.
His degrees are in English and English education, focussing on literature and composition, and taught 1st- and 2nd-year English at the College of New Caledonia in Prince George, B. C. For 15 years.
A. J. has had three short stories published on The Vinyl Café with Stuart McLean, the first of many writers to have attained such a distinction, and two of his stories were published in Mr. McLean’s most recent book, Time Now for The Vinyl Café Story Exchange (2013). In addition, A. J. just released his first book, a collection of poetry
