Ben and Bubba started playing music together as high school students. As they walked the halls playing and singing, they quickly realized the potential for more. In 2009 the band "Dixie Pride" was formed. The two performed across the state of Virginia. Due to life changes going into adulthood, the band decided it was best to take a break. Years later Ben and Bubba decided it was time to rekindle, and again pursue their passion for bluegrass and folk music. In 2017, A New Shade of Blue was established. Ben (Mandolin), Bubba (Banjo), Wayne (Guitar), David (Bass), and George (Fiddle), quickly rose in popularity across the Shenandoah Valley and surrounding areas. With drive, stage presence, and a great blend of vocal harmonies; A New Shade of Blue delivers enjoyable bluegrass entertainment.
